In 5 years I’ve had a couple of milestones - I got married, and I have an 18 month daughter. Work wise I’m still in the same place as when I joined the original BXB in 2003... so not everything changes.
Other minor changes include requiring more coffee to function than before, I could do with stronger glasses and things ache if I do any exercise.
What did you get up to?
Re: What did you get up to?
Recently moved away from my home town for the first time to a nice house in a tiny village in Shropshire.
Still gaming, still on the weights, still upgrading my Apple devices every year.
Two years away from fifty!!
Great to see familiar posters.
Looking forward to the new consoles.

Oh yeah, one major change in the recent years is I found religion.
I converted from Star Wars to Star Trek.

I knew when I woke from a dream about Angela Rippon winning the Grand National on a Yorkshire Terror that this was to be no ordinary week, and now this....

I work for a newspaper and luckily for me I was offered a promotion and a move to London two weeks before lockdown. I barely had the chance to see any of the city and my new place of work before the world around us collapsed.
Buying a bike was definitly the best purchase I've made all year though, so at least when everything was shut I got to ride around the city and begin to know the names of the places around me. Thankfully, my housemates are lovely people making my big move down south really enjoyable despite the unusual circumstances.
If any of you have any recommendations on any things to see and do in London, it would be greatly appreciated!

Nah, still TNG for me. There's load to love about DS9, but the Dominion war dragged on for too long and I didn't like they way it ended, Also the final series had far too many episodes with that holo-guy in the holo-casino. Gul Dukat is still the most badass of badass Trek villains though.
If you haven't seen the new animated series, Lower Decks, you really should - it's amazing.

In 2015 I started a new job with the national governing body for swimming and loved it and wanted to finish my career there due to Covid I was made redundant and now because of universal credit I had to take a job at McDonald’s. Not what I want to do with my life but jobs a job at this point. Kids are all grown up now and either are at uni or finished uni so life is good when it comes to that!

I was probably less active on the forums prior to closure but since 2015 I've had a couple of little changes.
Still married to a crazy yank and this year we celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary. Makes us seem like old farts saying it out loud but we still feel and joke around like we did when we met.
We had our "last hurrah" of travelling at the end of 2018, spending five months travelling then returned with the aim of starting a family. A week later my dad died unexpectedly, so as you can imagine I was kind of all over the place during the pregnancy. I think I've come out of it stronger and have found a new lease of life with the birth of my daughter last year.
My work moved swiftly to introduce working from home when Covid hit. Although these are crazy times, I've found the changes to be somewhat of a blessing. I've been able to see the cub and help out at home more so than I could have done working at the office. I've loved being a father and, as she will be one next month, I treasure the time I've had with her this past year. It has absolutely flown by though!
